What Is Coaching?

Coaching is a forward-focused partnership. It helps you get clear on where you are, what's led you there, where you want to go, and what's in the way — then helps you develop the accountability to make it happen.

Forward-Focused

We work with where you are now and develop goals for the future, utilizing the past and learning from it, but not diagnosing or treating it.

Enneagram-Informed

Your type becomes a practical framework for understanding your patterns, not just a personality label or stagnant data point.

Built for Accountability

Structured sessions and take-home tools keep your goals moving between meetings to ensure progress toward your desired outcomes.

Frequently asked questions

How is coaching different from therapy or consulting?

Coaching is client-centered, which means it's all about helping you get clear on where you are and where you want to go. We then dig into what's in the way and develop a strategy and accountability to reach your goals. This makes it different from consulting, where clients are typically given guidance and answers. A coach may call out observations or suggest a challenge when it's useful, but the focus is on helping you uncover your own answers, not handing you a map.

Coaching also isn't a replacement for therapy. If you're navigating deeper mental health concerns, a licensed therapist may be the better fit. While we use the past to reflect on how it can inform the present and future, coaching sessions are not a place to diagnose or treat the past.

How would you describe your coaching style?

My coaching style is values-centered, whole-person, and practical. When it's useful, I bring in the Enneagram to get to the root of what's really going on, focusing on the why before we ever get to the how or what. I care about who my clients are at their core, and I love celebrating wins along the way, whether big or small. Sessions are structured around tangible action steps, so we're always making forward progress. While I generally lead with encouragement, I am comfortable taking a more direct approach when that's what a client wants or needs.

What does a typical session look like?

Every session looks a little different depending on what you're working through, but you can generally expect us to check in on where things stand, dig into what's most present for you, and close with clear next steps to carry forward. Watch this video for a fuller breakdown of what to expect.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

While I primarily offer virtual sessions since most clients are spread across different locations, I occasionally offer sessions in person when possible.

Are sessions available for couples or family members?

Yes, joint sessions are available for partners or family members working through something together. Be sure to mention this when you book your consultation.

What if I don't know my Enneagram type yet?

That's completely normal, and many clients start without knowing their type. We'll work through an Enneagram overview together early on to help you identify it, alongside other reflective tools.
